A Shalom Basket is a gift basket for the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) filled with sweet and culturally appropriate holiday goodies for your Jewish friend.
Take advantage of our upcoming annual Shalom Basket outreach for your friends who are Jewish or married to Jewish people!
Jewish people traditionally eat apples dipped in honey to wish each other a sweet New Year. We put these together ourselves - they are beautiful and very high quality!
We encourage you to pick up and deliver your basket to your friend. It is a great way to deepen your relationship. The baskets will be available for pickup during the days before Rosh Hashanah (which falls on September 11th-13th this year).
This year will feature a beautiful wooden tray instead of a basket! It will include: gourmet honey, a Rosh Hashanah themed cotton hand towel, an apple and pear drink mixer, apple butter tea from the Asheville Tea Company, a golden apple bowl, an apple, and a Rosh Hashanah card. We are still awaiting shipment of these items, so last year’s Shalom Basket is currently pictured. We will updated these as soon as items arrive in August.

Many people who have Jewish friends don’t send them a basket because they are “afraid of offending,” or their friend “is not religious.” The baskets are gestures of friendship during a very special time of year for ALL Jewish people, religious or not. They are not offensive in the least. The baskets are designed to build relationships and tear down walls of misunderstanding.
