FAQ

What is a Shalom Basket?

A Shalom Basket is a gift basket filled with a variety of items such as apples, honey, candy, cookies, a candle and a holiday card. It is appropriately and beautifully designed to give to your Jewish friend during the Jewish New Year, also called Rosh Hashanah.

How does the Shalom Basket ministry work?

You order the basket from our ministry. We encourage you to deliver the basket yourself if you are comfortable with it. However,  we can deliver the basket for you. We can discuss spiritual issues with your friend upon delivery, or we will merely drop it off and wish them a Happy New Year from you. We will follow your instructions.

How do you know what I want you to do?

On the order form you may indicate if you will be delivering the basket (best), or if you want one of our staff or volunteers to deliver the basket. Unless counseled otherwise, we will consider this a green light to connect with your friend about spiritual issues.

Where do you deliver Shalom Baskets?

We strongly recommend that you deliver the basket yourself. In certain circumstances, we can deliver Shalom Baskets, but only in the metro Atlanta area. If you are unsure whether your recipient is within our delivery area, please call us before placing your order.

Where can I pick up my Shalom Basket?

As the time draws closer, we will let you know by email the date/time/place for pickup.

What about the New Year card? What does it say?

We enclose a traditional Jewish holiday card with the basket (no Christian materials are enclosed). Please let us know if there is a special note or greeting for your Jewish friend. We will personalize and sign the card for you.

Who will be delivering the baskets?

If you are unable to deliver your basket, or you prefer that we deliver it, one of our trained staff or volunteers will be delivering.

How much does it cost?

Each basket is $38.00, which includes the cost of delivery.

When will the baskets be delivered?

Shalom Baskets will be delivered the week of Rosh Hashanah.
