What churches are saying about Light of the Messiah Ministries
The worship experience through Jesus in the Passover was so moving. The whole evening was a source of great excitement and learning for the Grace Family. Our God is amazing! - Worship Pastor Michael Brown, Grace Bible Church, Tullahoma, TN
What a unique and worshipful evening as we celebrated Passover together. Our people now have a greater insight and appreciation for the Jewish customs and understand the symbolism behind the Passover elements and celebration! - Pastor Tim McGehee, Grace Baptist Church, Tullahoma, TN
Thank you for your professional presentation concerning the Seder meal in both of our services March 30. Both groups have said nothing but good things about the message, presentation and how wonderfully you spoke to all ages of people who were present. I trust your day was blessed by God as you ministered unto us. We will continue to pray for Light of Messiah Ministries as you proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. - Gary Jarnigan, Salem Baptist Church, McDonough, GA
As we began studying the Letter to the Romans, I wanted to offer a clear presentation of the Jewish roots of our faith. I had heard Murray speak on this topic before and knew immediately that I wanted our congregation to hear from him. Murray is an effective communicator and shares a powerful story of his Jewish heritage, his faith, his story and how all three are woven together in a story of transformation. - David Slagle, Pastor, Veritas Church, Atlanta, GA
Our church at North Lanier in Cumming, GA loves missions and one of our goals is to develop strong mission partnerships, both locally and around the globe. Light of Messiah Ministries is one of our favorite partners because we feel like we get to be a part of both a local ministry, as well as a global outreach. Our relationship with Light of Messiah began many years ago; Murray had been helping our church learn more about Jewish traditions for years. However, our relationship deepened when another team member joined our mission team doing Jewish Cemetery restoration work in Poland. She made the experience come alive for our team and her passion is infectious.
Since then, our hearts have expanded and grown in tremendous ways for Jewish ministry here in Atlanta. We have met many new Jewish friends and with each event our heart grows even more toward the ministry. It’s an amazing effect that results from truly seeing God move! It is clear God has much love for His people, and as I pray to have God’s heart, I cannot help but have love for the Jewish community. All of our friends at Light of Messiah have helped us in this journey. They have given us ways to do local ministry through building Shalom Baskets. We pray over them and have even been involved in taking them to new Jewish friends. Light of Messiah has come and spoken in our services many times and each time passions are ignited for missions and for our community. Our Passover meals have been stirring and moving, as we learn more about Christ and His culture. It gives the Bible new significance. We have also cleaned cemeteries together in Poland and in Atlanta, and each year we pray for the team that travels to Israel – and all over the globe! We have felt the deep hurt from a wounded nation, and pray we can be a part of the restoration. We feel blessed that we get to be a part of God’s work in such significant ways, whether it’s through prayer, giving our church members a ministry to be passionate about, learning about Jewish culture or serving here locally.
My personal favorite event is our annual Hanukkah Tea. Each year we invite our Russian Jewish friends to a tea and luncheon complete with ballet dancers, musicians and a gospel message. It is clear that the Lord is moving in the hearts of His people! Each year we have a dozen or so salvation testimonies and I love feeling like the Lord is blessed and glorified above all else. A selfish side note is that I also have a great time! It’s a lot of fun dancing to the Hava Nagila. Our little Baptist Church doesn’t see dancing much and wow, do we have a great time!
I was once very impacted by a statement made from Henry Blackaby’s “Experiencing God” study… He says something along the lines of (and I paraphrase) “find out where God is moving and get in on it.” We don’t have to wonder where we should serve, or wait until God brings us a ministry … we can jump in where God is already moving and be blessed! This is a ministry I love being a part of.
Thank you Light of Messiah for opening our eyes to the world around us. Thank you for your heart for Israel and God’s people. I have been blessed and I know this may seem strange to say, but my heart feels bigger and fuller than it ever has before.

Co-Chair of Missions

Murray was great. He helped us see the reality of Jesus in the elements of the Passover. He was also authentic in his presentation. This is not a man untouched by the difficulties of normal life. This makes the Passover, even for Christians, more than just a ceremony; he made it food for the soul. I highly recommend him. - Alan Foster, East Lanier Community Church, Buford, GA
We had Murray Tillis speak at our church and the congregation was talking about it for weeks. His boldness and passion for the Gospel are contagious. God bless your ministry. - Rich Powell, Grace Bible Church, Winston-Salem, NC
As a pastor, I have held Passover dinners in other churches, but LOM's was by far the most enlightening. He brings a wealth of knowledge to this event with a warm and engaging sense of humor. You will be blessed to see our Lord pictured in every aspect of this sacred meal. It will be an evening you won't forget. - Bill Bigham, Clearview Baptist Church, Pinson, AL
My thanks to you and your program of excellence presented to our church family. You are a gifted communicator of the eternal truth relevant to all mankind; Jews and Gentiles; believers of all nationalities and Christians of every persuasion….our folks were brought from peeking into the keyhole of the Upper Room into the very presence of the Apostles and Jesus as they observed the Passover meal. - Ken Davidson, First Christian Church, Stockbridge, GA
I just had to tell you how much your presentation, "Jesus in the Passover” meant to me personally! I will never be the same after worshipping with you during the teaching about the Passover and Jesus. I heard great comments about the service from the people …”We need to have him here again”, “I cried when I realized that all through the Old Testament that God was showing the way to redemption through Jesus”. As you can see you truly had a ministry here with us. - Tim Childers, First Baptist Church, Mableton, GA
Thank you so much for your ministry with us yesterday. The meaning and the significance of the Passover took on a new and fresh perspective for all of us. One man, who is only a very new believer, said that he had come to understand so much of the relationship of the Old Testament and the new through your explanations. - James Bollback, Grace Church C&MA, Duluth, GA
May I take this opportunity to recommend to you Murray Tilles and Light of Messiah Ministries, to minister to your congregation on Jewish traditions and their impact on the Christian church today. Murray has a heart for the Jewish people and also a heart for Christians to know and understand the power behind the life of a Jew. He approaches the subject with candor and with tremendous insight, which effectively translates into the hearts of your people. He also approaches his subject with respect for the church, yet a powerful commitment to many of the Jewish traditions. Your congregation will have a greater appreciation for the Old Testament, as well as the Jewish life of Christ in the New Testament. - Fritz Musser, The Tabernacle (Full Gospel), Lawrenceville, GA
In serving Jesus Christ through the United Methodist Church, I have often sought some programs to share with my congregation that will enhance their spiritual growth. I have found such a program in "Jesus in the Passover” presented by Light of Messiah Ministries. Brother Murray Tilles shares Jesus with an openness that will move your congregation to a new level in understanding the “Jewishness” of Jesus. His presentation links our Lord to the Old Testament in such a beautiful way that people in my congregation were moved to tears. - Rev. Dan Gates, East Highland UMC, Columbus, GA
Brother Murray is a Jewish believer in Christ with a “sold out heart” to get the message of God’s Messiah to the Jewish people and he blesses us Gentiles in the course of doing so! His message is very serious, yet his method of presentation and proclamation is most enjoyable, being interspersed with appropriate humor, illustrations, and object lessons. Rarely do you find one like Murray who can hold the attention of both youth and adult alike. We were totally caught up and hanging onto every word he shared with us. - Rev. James A. Cook, New Canaan Baptist Church, Dallas, GA
Your ministry was meaningful in a way that touches us all, by helping us to learn how to witness to others in our community. You gave practical, how-to information. Your sense of humor put us at ease. The knowledge you imparted about customs and practices was uplifting. The books made available were interesting and inspiring. - Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Lilburn, GA
Recently our church observed “Jesus in the Passover”. It was a very beautiful dramatic demonstration and teaching on the meaning of the articles used in the Passover feast. The presentation was crystal clear and inspiring to our congregation. Many of our people had never seen the Passover, much less depicting our Savior in the Passover. They came away uplifted and educated in God’s Word. - Rev. Samuel Parsons, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA
The Gideons of this Carrollton-Carroll County Camp prayed that God would send us speakers that would inspire the visiting pastors and our members. God answered our prayers in an abundant way. You gave a superb presentation. - Alvin M. Crews, The Gideons International
On behalf of Goshen Baptist Church I would like to thank you for coming our way. LOM is such a blessing to our church as you share with us the history of the Jewish Passover. I believe God is using you to reach the Jewish community in a great way, and that he is helping us Gentiles to understand more about the Jewish people through your ministry. - Rev. David Zorn, Goshen Baptist Church, Goshen, AL
After the service we had Sunday communion will never be the same again. I can’t tell you how much the presentation touched me personally. I want to say thank you to your ministry and a special thanks to your speaker. Your ministry loves the Lord and has a passion for not only reaching Jewish for Christ, but all the “whosoevers” of the world. “Jesus in the Passover” is, without a doubt, one of the best evangelism tools I know. - Rev. Thomas A. Long, Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn, GA
Thank you for a wonderful, educational, and emotional evening. How you explained Christ fulfilling the Passover is so good. When you broke the middle matzah and said, “This is my Body broken for you”, my heart and spirit responded with so much gratitude for His sacrifice and your ministry. Praise God for how He is using you. - Fellowship Bible Church, Roswell, GA
